This 80g bar of orange and chilli dark chocolate by Bennetto Natural Foods arrived in a simple padded white envelope to protect it during transit. The cardboard cover is beautifully illustrated by Henrietta Harris and the chocolate itself is also wrapped in a layer of gold paper foil to keep the chocolate fresh. Overall, it feels like a very premium chocolate bar and would make a lovely thoughtful gift.The chocolate is made from 60% dark organic chocolate with the addition of sweet orange zest and a hint of chilli to make a very well-balanced bar of chocolate. The bar contains small pieces of candied orange zest and the dark chocolate is smooth with the orange flavour at the forefront and a good kick of chilli as an aftertaste.The ingredients are evidently good quality and the company has a host of positive credentials including using fairtrade, organic chocolate, gaining the accolade of being a certified B corporation company and having a positive effect in the environment by being carbon neutral and climate positive. The chocolate is also suitable for vegans too! Made in Switzerland, this chocolate bar is priced at £3.60 at the time of reviewing, so it isn’t a cheap bar of chocolate but it is delicious and I feel like it does deliver on its price point.

Never heard of this brand previously. The packaging is just beautiful and, as well as using organic and fairtrade ingredients, the chocolate is made in Switzerland. The chocolate is generously studded with pieces of candied orange peel, and the hit of chilli is divine. If I have any criticism at all it would be that it’s a little sweet for my taste, but the orange and chilli is a heavenly combination.

I bought this as a token gift for a relative (to arrive with his main alcohol gift).He loves dark chocolate for the health benefits and also that he eats less as is so rich with the higher cocoa content.He's feedback that this was amazing and that he's really enjoyed it. Apparently the quality is top notch, creamy and rich with an immediate flavour of sweet oranges, the kick of the chilli comes shortly after the chocolate and orange has passed the taste buds. The chilli isn't overpowering amd adds a quick tingle and a warm sensation which prolongs the enjoyment.I'm super pleased it was enjoyed and I enjoyed paying less when purchasing as was on a special offer under £4 at the time of purchase in May.I'd happily buy this brand again.

I'm rarely buy chocolat because most of the time it's too sweet or oily for me. Just because of the reviews decided to give it a try and oh my god, its so good, so tasty. The quality is outstanding

I’m generally not a huge fan of Dark chocolate but I need to eat it for health reasons, I’m much of of a milk chocolate lover and although I’ve started to take to Dark, I’d still choose milk for flavour if I had a choice, but after having this? Not anymore! I have to point out I’m not a great fan of orange either, especially orange chocolate so by all metrics I should dislike this but it’s now actually one of my favourites!I love chilli but never expected it to work in chocolate but I can’t really taste it in this, at all actually but I know it’s there because it gives you that little kick (if you don’t like spicy/hot foods, no worries! It’s a very gentle and mild kick, more like a little tingle. It is very pleasant!The orange adds a very nice sweetness to it very much taking away the bitterness of dark chocolate, although to be fair this is already only 60% cocoa.It’s vegetarian/vegan if you’re into that sort of thing and it’s gluten free.It’s presented in a lovely wrapper and came in perfect condition. Being organic and fair trade is just the icing on the top.At £3.60 it’s not the cheapest but you get a stunning bar of chocolate right to your doorstep, it would make the perfect gift but in my case, I don’t think it would ever get that far, I quite easily demolished the whole bar. This is now my favourite chocolate! Absolutely recommend, even if you dislike dark chocolate I’d encourage to just give this one a try!

Organic. Fair trade accredited. Vegan. Eco-conscious. And utterly, utterly delicious.This Bennetto bar of dark chocolate with orange and chilli would not be out of place in a luxury food hamper. It is beautifully packaged and of premium quality. The chocolate tastes deep, rich and smooth. Initially, upon opening the packet, it smells rather like a Terry's chocolate orange, but the orange zest in the bar tastes less sweet and far more natural. The citrus taste is followed by a fiery chilli kick which takes you rather by surprise and is very uplifting.In short, this chocolate is a revelation. One of the best bars of dark chocolate I have ever tasted.

If you are a dark chocolate lover you will love this! This one is flavoured with orange oil and has little orangey nibbley bits throughout but it is also spicey! It's really unusual. It's quite sweet, thanks to the orangey bits and really takes the edge off my sweet cravings when I need a chocolate fix! My husband loved this one!It's expensive, but due to how rich I find dark chocolate I can satisfy my sweet cravings by nibbling on a single square for 10 minutes, so it's definitely a treat and not something to cram down quickly.

When I’ve tried chocolate with chilli before, it’s tended to be quite strong, with the chilli really the main flavour and a bit aggressive. That’s not the case with this orange and chilli flavour from Bennetto. Here, the flavour is definitely more about the dark chocolate and orange, and the chilli is an interesting tingling aftertaste, almost like a popping candy somehow.The chocolate is Swiss-made, but I wouldn’t put it at the top of the class in terms of quality. The 60% cocoa blend reminds me a fair bit of Cadbury’s Bournville, except with a little less vegetable oil and a slightly more powdery texture, but it’s still quite soft, and not especially bitter. It’s ‘entry level’ dark chocolate, for people who aren’t ready for the more cocoa-heavy options in the range yet.At three quite sixty for a 80g bar, this product is more expensive than brands like Montezuma’s, Lindt or Tony’s. And while the packaging might be marginally posher, and the flavour is quite interesting, it doesn’t quite manage to prove itself better than some of the flavours those brands can offer. If it did, it would certainly be five stars.

This Bennetto Chocolate bar comes beautifully packaged with a wrapper featuring exotic birds dressed in vintage costume (I jest not!) and comes backed with ethical virtues from being organic to Fairtrade accreditation. The chocolate is Vegan friendly although it does comes with a warning that it is made in a factory where milk, nuts and soya are used.This particular bar from a fairly extensive range features one of my favourite combinations namely dark chocolate, orange and chili. The texture is smooth and the 60% cocoa element ensures a moderate bitterness which is quickly enlivened by a distinct orange citrus with the chili slower to reveal itself but when it does on the aftertaste packing quite a punch! All in all it is a hugely enjoyable mouthful.Pricewise this is a premium brand and I am not impressed by the reduction of size from the standard 100g to a mere 80g. Still this is a lovely bar to give or receive with a memorable mixture of taste sensations.
